New Story: The Observed
A/N: PreRayne, set after the BDM. Zoe takes to observing. This is something completely different then my usual style so do bare with me, this popped into my head and wouldn't leave. Disclaimer: All I own is plot. Please R&R. Nichbuket The Observed They sit there together, at the table, in silence. Everyone else is off doing whatever it is they do, but being alone now offers me a lot of time to watch. I know they know I’m there, but like most times since…since Wash, they leave me to my own mind. I wonder if they even realize how they’ve changed. Since Miranda everything has changed, but these two are the most unexpected. In the beginning, neither was completely whole. He was one lost hundun with an eye for three things: money, whorin’, and violence. She was a lost, tortured, little girl with so much intelligence and strength and no way to control either. There was no friendship among them, just as much angst as any one person could imagine. I never thought I’d see a day when things were different, but then Time enjoys messing with all of us I suppose. Now whether either of them fully realizes it or not, they’re an integral part of the crew. So while he can still be the biggest pain in the pigu and she’s still not completely not crazy, they’re part of the family. They’re watched over. So as I lean here, lost in my own thoughts, I see how they fit together. She’s there teaching herself how to knit a pair of socks, because his ma’s hands ain’t what they used to be. He’s there flipping through magazines, trying to find her the perfect gun, after her last one got tossed over a cliff this past job. They sit close enough to feel each other’s body heat, but still far enough away Mal wont say anything if he walks by. The only thing that can be heard is breathing, and that just barely. No pages turning. No needles clicking. If I didn’t see them moving, I’d almost think they were frozen in time; the perfect picture of contentment. Life is too short and precious to be wasting it. I normally don’t find meddling in other folk’s lives appealing, but I can’t help it. They could be so good together. They already are. All those two need is a little nudge in the right direction. As I take a deep breath and head towards the bridge to do a bit of stargazing, they both look up at me. Nodding at both of them, I continue on, but not before seeing them smile shyly at each other. Maybe they wouldn’t need that nudge after all. Maybe I’ll just hold Mal back and watch their story grow. Current Mood: contemplative | | Tuesday, December 16th, 2008 | | 10:58 pm |
New Story: Her Fault
This is really my first attempt at angst, and as always feedback is appreciated. This is a Rayne ficlet. For some reason I can't get Italics to work, so what's in between ********* are memories. Her Fault “It was all her fault. She didn’t mean for it to happen, she should have been able to stop it. She is sorry, so very sorry.” The rest of the crew just stared at her, not quite sure how to react. Out of all the possibilities they have calculated, this was not one of them. Zoe is the only one who is brave enough to touch her. She is lifted away, and Zoe hugs her close as she leads her to the showers. So much blood. Her hair, her clothes, her hands, all of her covered in blood. She knows no matter how hard she scrubs, the blood will not wash away. She doesn’t want it to wash away. It is her fault and she must remember. *********“Now bao bei, come on,” Jayne says as River begins to nibble on his ear. God he loves when she does that. “We’re supposed to be lookin’ out for Zo and Mal comin’ with the loot.” Pushing herself closer into his body, if that was even possible, River whispered, “But my Jayne shot the bad man down, shot him to the ground, and you don’t reeaallly want me to stop.” With a growl, that made her giggle, Jayne captured her lips, and the whole world fell away. Their kisses were always passionate yet sweet, demanding yet patient. Lost in each other, they didn’t notice that they weren’t alone any longer. They didn’t hear the cocking of a gun. They did, however, hear the trigger. River was fast, but in this instant Jayne was faster. He twirled her around just in time for the bullet to pierce his heart. As Jayne fell, a look of shock on his face, he grabbed Ginny and shot the assailant, who was holding his side, through the eye. River screamed. She tried to put pressure on his wound as the others came running, but it was for naught. Simon took one look at Jayne’s limp body and knew there was nothing he could do. When he tried to move her, she just held Jayne’s body closer, rocking, and apologizing over and over, as if it would bring him back. ************ She watches the blood flow down the drain, but can still feel it sticking to her flesh. She can still see the red under her fingernails. No matter what she does or where she goes, she is chased by death. She is not allowed to be happy. She is numb. For all she was, for all they made her to be, she was nothing. She was alone. She was done and now maybe the world would be safer because of it. | | Friday, November 28th, 2008 | | 1:29 pm |
Chapter 4
Did they honestly think I would be able to just go lie down? My goddess, how long have they known me? Buffy and Spike would be out there beating up every demon they came across till they found some tiny bit of information with regards to were I was. They’re all I have left and I wont let them down by sitting here twiddling my thumbs. I’ll have to thank Will for showing me how to scry using the net. Frankly I’m shocked she didn’t think of it. One little crystal and my laptop, I send a quick thank you to whatever god created Google. As the crystal hovers over my laptop, I watch Google search for the correct timeline. Ahh, the life of the modern day Wicca. Google stops searching when it reaches 1880, the year Spike was turned. That can’t be a good thing. Spike was a ruthless part of the Scourge then, and can you imagine Buffy without a hair dryer? It gives me chills just thinking about it. I should probably go tell the others but they would be too cautiony, taking forever to decide on a course of action and then wouldn’t even include me in the rescue mission. No matter what I do, I’ll always be little Dawnie to them. No, this is something I have to be a part of. I am the key, after all. It’s not as if I have no powers. Wes and I had practiced opening up doors to other places. While creating portals to other worlds and cities would be draining on the average witch or warlock, being the key gives me the advantage of ease. I’ve never actually brought anyone through with me, but I’m sure I can do it. Now where is that damn ceremonial dagger, Aha! I can go fetch Buffy and Spike before anyone realizes I’m missing. The only issue I have is the cutting. It’s not a deep cut, just a nick on my index finger so that my blood can flow, but call me crazy for not being a glutton for pain. I’m so focused on visualizing the era I want the door to open in, that I don’t even hear the knock or the eventual opening of my door. “Dawn! What are you doing?!” Wes startles me out of my reverie. It’s too late though, and the portal engulfs us both. It feels like I’m falling, a sensation that I’ve never felt before when I practiced,. Then again I never practiced time travel. The falling eventually stops, but there’s darkness all around me. I can’t feel anything. I’m floating, but it seems as if all my nerve endings aren’t functioning. I try to call out for Wesley, but no sound comes out. I’m beginning to worry that Wes’s interruption might have interfered with the magic. I’m scared. Then suddenly I’m falling again. I don’t know how long it’s been or how far I’ve fallen, but I’m getting more worried, not to mention board. Falling. Falling. Falling. How on earth could I still be falling? Ouch. I guess that answered my question then. You’d think that the PTB could at least cushion the landing a bit. The darkness is fading now, and I can hear people and a train in the distance. When my sight finishes focusing, I notice the buildings and the clothes the people are wearing. Unfortunately, my sense of smell has also returned. Yuck! I feel a hand on my shoulder and jump. I flip whoever it is over my head on instinct. Crap. Staring up at me from his back is Wes, and he doesn’t look happy. In fact, I don’t think I ‘d be far off in saying that he looks like he wants to throttle me. I put on my best I’m so very sorry smile. “Hi Wes. What brings you here?” I think he actually growled. It’s kinda cute. Wait, did I just think Wes was cute. I’m not even allowed to ponder my thoughts further, because he’s getting up. “Dawn, I find that over the years I have been most patient with your antics, wouldn’t you agree?” I nod, and feel a look of sham cross my face. “I’m going to remain clam, like the gentlemen I was raised to be, but I just need you to answer something for me.” I look at him waiting. “WHERE IN THE BLOODY BUGGERING HELL ARE WE!!!!” I know my jaw has dropped. In all the years I’ve known him, in spite of all the crap I’ve pulled, I don’t think I’ve ever heard him swear. So being like every girl in her early twenties, I did the only thing I could think of. I burst out laughing. Current Mood: blahCurrent Music: Foo Fighters | | Friday, October 17th, 2008 | | 8:43 pm |
Chapter 3
Sometimes I forget how young Dawn really is. Though I know she is far from sheltered, when she sleeps she takes on an innocence that I feel was taken from her much to soon. Being a mystical key and sister to a slayer would force anyone to grow up to quickly. Even as she sleeps, worry creases her brow. I often wish Dawn could live in a world where her biggest troubles included what to wear on Friday night or if she passed her latest exam. She could live in a world where she would be safe, like the Walgreens’ one displayed repeatedly on the telly. Then again, maybe I’m too selfish for that. I like having Dawn around. With her, life is never boring. We have to find Buffy and Spike. I don’t know if Dawn could handle otherwise. She’s had too many letdowns in life, and I refuse to let this become the next one. I’ll look through every book on the planet and speak to the lowliest creatures if I have to. If only so many resources hadn’t been lost when the council blew up. Who knows what information can't be remembered. “Eureka!” Kourtnee shouts, startling Dawn out of her brief but very welcome nap. “I think I found it….Oh.” Everyone rushes to her side, but Dawn pushes them all out of the way. “The Chamos are a very rare species,” Dawn begins to read, rolling her eyes. “Though little is known about the species, we have been able to discern a few key properties in regards to how there powers function. Blah, Blah, Blah, Can’t any of you watchery types ever just get to the point?” She looks at me when she speaks. It’s my turn to roll my eyes, as I grab the book from her. “ Thanks in most part to a Goulash demon, we have compiled the following inventory of characteristics. Firstly, the Chamos are a lower breed of demon known to have the ability of time travel, but not much else. While the Chamos are able to slip through the lines of time, they are considered merely mischief-makers. It is difficult to say however, how their trickery effects the timeline if much at all.” Dawn snapped her fingers at me. Her way of reminding me time was of the essence. “Yes, well…though it is only myth and there are no proven cases that we have as of yet to find, it is said that if a non-everto tempus is caught up in the Chamos’ portal field the creature is lost. The hitchhiker, if you will, would be stuck wherever the Chamos’ destination was last. Being that the hitchhiker clung to part of the Chamos’ essence, the Chamos is also said to be stuck in that period of time. The only way for either or the prisoners to be freed, is for one of them to die. Unfortunately, due to the tied essences, the Chamos and the hitchhiker appear visually to each other as one. Without the ability to see one another, they are unable to battle. The Chamos on average are said to live eons so they only have to wait for the hitchhiker to die off before moving on; a small percentage of time when compared to their life span. Dawn sank into a chair as I finished reading, a look of total desolation upon her face. Poor girl. “Dawn, we’ll keep searching. If we found this, there could be more. Don’t give up hope so soon.” With a shaky voice and watery eyes, Dawn looked up at me, silently pleading with me. “Thanks Wes. I think I’m gonna just go lie down for a bit.” Before I can say anything, she’s out the door. As I watch her leave, everyone has their eyes on me. “What are you all doing? Get back to searching.” Before getting back to my book I notice Xander comforting Willow as she cries. Standing, I walk over to them. “We will find them. We will get them home safe. Now stop this nonsense and get back to researching. We will not let Dawn down!” I can feel their eyes piercing the back of my skull as I sit back down. They are upset and think me heartless, but at this point I could careless. Crying wont bring Buffy and Spike home, and at the moment that is my top priority, their emotions be damned. | | Friday, October 3rd, 2008 | | 2:14 pm |
Chapter 2
Chapter 2 I knew something was wrong as soon as I walked in the door. I invited Wesley to stay for a late dinner, and went in search of Buffy, making sure that Spike was cooking and not her. She may be great at a lot of things, but cooking is not Buffy’s forte. I knew she wasn’t going to answer even before I shouted her name. Intuition annoys the hell out of me. Wes tried to convince me that they just weren’t back from patrol yet, but I knew. For all their inventiveness, Buffy and Spike patrolled the same pattern every night, and were home at exactly the same time. We’d sit down have dinner and they’d do another sweep before bed, sometimes with me tagging along. If a demon held them up, they’d call my cell. I had no missed calls. I began to panic and was about to go look for them when Wesley’s phone rang. The butterflies that had been making my stomach their new playground instantly turned into the world’s largest boulders. I sank to the couch as Wes’ face turned ashen. My fingernails cut deep crescents into my palms. I didn’t even notice the blood till Wesley grabbed my hands after he’d hung up the phone. He wrapped me in a hug as I began to cry. Waiting till I calmed, he told me Willow had said we were needed at council head courters. Buffy and Spike were patrolling with some of the younger slayers, when a female Chamos, a lesser demon of time, seemingly came out of nowhere. In their attempts to kill her, they didn’t notice the portal it began to create around itself. As they both ran at the Chamos the portal closed around them sending them off to goddess knows where in time. The others had ran back to base camp to inform the others and start the research party. That’s what we’re need for. Research. As I look around me at the dozens of others helping us look for a way to bring Buffy and Spike home, I marvel at how the times have changed, and yet think that we could have hundreds helping us and still not find anything useful. We don’t even know if there’s anything useful to find. The Chamos are a very rare breed of demon, and not much study has been done on them. No one has ever gotten caught in one their portals before. Figures it would have to be Buffy that would be the first to stumble into this kind of mess. She seems to be magnetic when it comes to bad luck. “We’ll find a way to bring them back, and you’ll have Buffy yelling at you to clean your room before you know it,” Wesley says, trying to comfort me. I can tell by the look in his that he’s not even sure though. I put on my bravest smile and lean into as he wraps his arm around my shoulders. “Sure we will. And Spike will be back to insulting you with the Britishisms that only you two seem to understand, while Buffy and I laugh as you grumble back insults under your breath.” “I would never,” He replies using his version of the higher than mighty voice. I lift my head and raise an eyebrow at him. I can tell he’s trying not to laugh, by that twinkle he gets in his eye. I love that twinkle. In a way it’s comforting. “Really?” He smiles and kisses my forehead, before I once again rest my head on his shoulder. Squeezing me again, he reverts back to seriousness. “I promise Dawn, we will rescue them.” And in that moment I can almost believe that there is no doubt. Everything will be alright. I am at home safe and protected, while my sister and her husband take a second honeymoon through time, and they will return soon baring outrageous gifts for everyone. It’s a nice thought. I sit up and the two of us get back to our research, but not before I lean over and give Wesley a kiss on the cheek. “Thanks, Wes.” He smiles in return. an: I had totally forgot to this chapter post here. sry guys. | | Monday, September 1st, 2008 | | 1:43 pm |
A Moment in Time
Chapter one Growing up, my family really didn’t display affection. There were no hugs or kisses on the forehead, just firm handshakes for a job well done, and those were rare enough. I don’t think I ever truly understood what I was missing till I was transferred to Sunnydale. Everyone was always hugging, kissing and complimenting, even when mistakes were made or anger was felt. Buffy, Giles, the Scoobies, Mrs. Summers, and Dawn were a family. Maybe not by blood, but truer devotion was never witnessed than among that group. I might not have been fully accepted, but there were times when even I felt that I was cared for. That was something I thought I’d loose when I was fired for being a failure. I was shunned from my family for bringing disgrace upon them, and none of whom I considered my friends would condescend to speak with me. Then I moved to Los Angeles. Angel is never one for showing much affection unless it is self pity, but in her own way, Cordelia did her best to make me feel welcomed, especially with it being so soon after Doyle had passed. We worked hard and gained more friends in Gunn, Loren and eventually Fred. Fred was a shining star, albeit a quirky one. She looked for the good in everyone, including Spike. Even after I made the grave error of kidnapping Connor, she displayed kindness. Though she didn’t comprehend my actions, she attempted to give me the benefit of the doubt. I fell in love with her, it was difficult not to, but for all my revelation I was too late in the telling. My beautiful star was extinguished much to soon and her body made a shell to house an ancient goddess. Having to watch her body walk around daily was torture, but in the end I came to terms with Illyria. Being that she is in the States, with Angel, doesn’t hurt matters either. For all the glory that she was and more, I shall never forget my Fred. Times change though, and with them we must follow. That would be how I find myself sitting in one of Oxford’s libraries waiting for Dawn to return with drinks. She is such an intelligent girl, and so very full of life. I hear her laughter, and shake my head smiling. She is about the only person who wouldn’t get kicked out of a library for laughing so loudly. Dawn is quite the talker and seems to have everyone wrapped around her finger, including me. I love her laugh, and her smile. I find myself unable to stay mad at her for long. For when she smiles in my direction all anger seems to float away. I am so proud of all she has accomplished in such a short amount of time. One day she will make an excellent watcher, better than any other. Some would say I am biased on that account, but those some have yet to meet my pupil and experience her very essence. “Hey watcher-man, what has you all zombified?” Dawn asks, making me jump out of my reverie. When I don’t answer her right away, she begins to sound worried, “Wes?” I put on my best impersonation of a smile, “I can assure all is well, my dear.” I can see by her raised eyebrow that she doesn’t quite believe me. “Honest Dawn, I’m alright. I was just thinking is all.” She places her hand over mine and shares a look of understanding. Somehow she knows that I don’t wish to discuss it and lets the subject drop. “So you ready to practice manipulating the elements?” With a faux sigh of exasperation I reply, “As ready as I’ll ever be, I suppose.” “Great,” She says, sharing with me that special, one of a kind smile. God how I wish I could capture that smile in a way that would do it justice, just so I could view it whenever I pleased. Oh what a gift that would be. **************************************** ************* AN: Hey all, I just want to apologize for it being almost if not a year since I have written anything at all. There hasn’t been a tone of inspiration flowing around her. Yesterday thought, I had a stroke of thought hit me. I hope to finish this story by the end of this year so cross your fingers. And being that it is the first day of September, and my nan passed away one year ago this month, I would like to dedicated this chapter and the rest of the story in her name. Nan, thank you for all the encouragement you gave me throughout the years. You are sorely missed. Please R&R, I tend to update quicker if that’s any motivation. ☺ | | Sunday, November 25th, 2007 | | 2:09 pm |
New Story: Worth It
Hey all, I know I didn’t finish the weda/spuffy fic I was workin’ on, but this little ditty just wouldn’t leave my head. It’s my first Firefly fic so be gentle, and enjoy. Nichbuket Disclaimer: I own nothing. Please don’t sue Worth It Jayne couldn’t help it. Try as he might, he couldn’t stop thinkin’ on that gorram feng le girl. Jayne knew it weren’t right. He knew he’d be goin’ to that special hell Mal was always on about. The girl wasn’t even all there for Buddha’s sake. “Maybe she doesn’t need to be,” River said from behind Jayne causing him to jump. “Da shiong bao-jah-shr du la-doo-tze!” Jayne shouted. “What you doin’ girl, askin’ to get shot?” “Jayne would not shoot the girl,” She replied with an absolute certainty that sent a chill down Jayne’s spine. “That so?” River nodded. “Girl would stop Jayne before he reached for the trigger.” Jayne snorted. She had him there. After seein’ what she did to all those Reavers, Jayne had no doubt that she could take him. “Besides, the bee doesn’t sting the flower it lands on. They work together in a mutually beneficial relationship,” River said snapping Jayne from his thoughts. “Shi ma?” Jayne responded, quirking his brow. Even though she was more lucid since Miranda, he still couldn’t understand what the girl said half the time. River nodded again, this time advancing towards him. Jayne started backing up, but River followed till he hit the wall. “Your confusion is unwarranted. This is logical. Two by two.” As she leaned in Jayne grabbed her shoulders. “Yesu Girl! What you tryin’ to do, get me thrown out the airlock?” River tilted her head in a manner that had Jayne groaning. “It is logical. Two by two. We will bend together like the colors of the sunset. We will blend so no one can tell where you end and I begin. It is logical,” and with that last though River leaned in the rest of the way and kissed Jayne until he kissed her back. “Wo cao,” Jayne moaned when they broke apart. Looking in to her eyes he saw something he couldn’t describe, and at that exact moment he didn’t give a go se. Grabbing her hair, he brought her lips back to his. New Story! A Moment In Time
Disclaimer: I own nothing but unrecognizable characters and plot line. Though if Joss would be willing to lend me Spike I wouldn’t be object. A/N: Takes place after “Not Fade Away.” Just assume Buffy’s crew got to LA in time to help stop the apocalypse, and save Wesley. Spike and Wes followed the Scoobies back to England to work on building the new council. Spike Shansued-human with strengths and married Buffy. Dawn is studying to become a watcher and Wesley is doing the mentor thing because Giles is to busy with being head councilman. I think that about somes up what you need to know for now. Enjoy ~nichbuket Prologue Being alone sucks. Everyone knows this. Everyone also knows how annoying it is to have two people who are obviously in love with each other prance around in front of you all day reminding you of just how alone you are. Don’t get me wrong I love my sister and Spike more than anything in the world, and I’m happy that they finally get a chance to really be together. It’s just that, well, I feel like I’m doomed to repeat my sister’s mistakes when it comes to romance. Yah, sure Spike is a great guy, but first there was Brad who just stopped calling, Pike who left, Owen and Scott are hardly worth mentioning, Angel who went evil then turned good and left, Parker was the one night stand, Riley who left, and finally the Immortal, Mort. He was with Buffy just to get at Angel and Spike. So you see her track record blows. It seems mine is following suit. The first boy I went out with ended up being a vampire, who wanted to turn me. I staked him. Once Buffy and I settled down in Rome, I met Vincenzo. He seemed generally sweet, at least until he found out that I wouldn’t put out. Giovanni was next. We were in the same chem. class together. Vanni probably lasted the longest out of all my would be boyfriends. He was amazing. Than came his introduction into the other world. When he said he could handle the demons and magic I fell even harder for him. Unfortunately learning that I’m a mystical key who’s technically only been alive for four years was too much to handle. Since we’ve moved to England I’ve pretty much ruled out dating. “Dawn. Wesley’s here!” Buffy shouted “Be right down!” Dawn replied grabbing her bag. Wesley smiled at Dawn as she came down the stairs. “All ready then?” Dawn smile. “Yep. All set for the learn’n. What will it be today? Archaic demonic languages perhaps?” “But you’ve already mastered them all, my dear,” Wesley said shaking his head. “Maybe, but it never hurts to practice,” Dawn replied walking out the door. “No. No, it doesn’t,” Wesley followed her out. I don’t understand why it seems so hard. All I want is a kind, caring, mature, guy who wont freak out when he learns about who my family and me really are. I want a guy to treat me as great as Spike does Buffy. | | Saturday, March 3rd, 2007 | | 4:30 pm |
New Story! For the Memories
Hey all. this is just another little Dawn ficlet. I'm working on the longer story, promise, but this little imagination bug crawled in my ear, and kept bugging me till I wrote what it wanted. Anywho I want to thank DisneyFreak101 for the inspiration. Without her I would have been lost along time ago. And just a reminder- I OWN NOTHING. Well nothing except for the plot. Hope you enjoy. Please R&R. Nichbuket “Hey. I told you guys you didn’t need to come. It’s just the wake,” Janice said hugging Dawn and Amanda. “Where else would we be?” Dawn asked. “How are you and your dad hanging?” Janice wiped more tears from her eyes. “As well as can be expected I guess. I think Dad is feeling a little guilty though. Gram was making his favorite dinner.” “I just don’t understand what made her go out after dark. Everyone knows weird shit happened in SunnyD after the sun goes down.” Amanda stated. “I know, but the note she left said that she forgot to pick up the capers and she had to run to the store. I wish she’d just have saved dinner for the next night, but she was so determined Dad would have that meal on his birthday.” Janice was shaking. Dawn pulled her in to another hug. “I know that it sounds absolutely trivial, but it things will get better. I promise.” “I know, but right now things suck. Aunt Jane and Uncle Danny are arguing with Dad over her belongings. I mean my grandmother isn’t even in the ground yet and they’re arguing over who gets the big screen TV! It’s ridiculous and not far to Gram.” “I’m sorry sweetie,” Amanda said brushing a strand of hair out of Janice’s eyes. “Didn’t she have a will or something?” “Well supposedly she was in the process of rewriting it, so certain things aren’t divided and so they’re up for grabs.” Dawn shook her head, appalled at the actions of Janice’s family. “Is there at least a good reason they want the TV? Like did they watch Sunday afternoon football game together every weekend or something?” Janice shook her head no. “My uncle thinks he could get a good price for it or something.” “God! I just don’t understand people like that. I have people in my family who are the same way, and my grandparents are still alive.” “Here. Here.” Amanda said in agreement. “You see, and I don’t want to sound crass or anything, but there is only one thing I want when my nan dies. On her bedroom dresser there is this antique silver mirror, brush, and comb sitting on a matching tray. When Buffy and I were growing up, Nan used to let us sit on her bed while she and mom would get ready to go out. I was totally fascinated by the beautiful scroll pattern on the back of the mirror and how the light flickered off the silver just so. It was a wedding present from her mother, and her mother’s mother before that. I was only allowed to touch it with one finger, because, lets face it, it you think I’m klutzy now, you should have seen me back then.” The girls giggled. “ One time when I was ten, though, Nan let me hold the mirror as she fixed my hair for a wedding we were going to. I felt so special. Like a princess. And while I know I’m not likely to forget something like that anytime soon, I want the set as a reminder. One day I want to sit and brush my granddaughter’s hair the way my Nan brushed mine, and when she gets old enough, I want to pass it on to her, so she’ll have those memories to cherish forever.” Both Janice and Amanda were teary eyed at Dawns story. “That’s beautiful, and totally meaningful Dawn,” Janice said with Amanda nodding at her side. “I think I’ll have a talk with me family. Even it they don’t listen, I should try. It’s important.” Amanda and Dawn hugged Janice one more time before they had to leave. “Of course it’s important. Heirlooms aren’t about how much money they can bring you, but for the memories they create when you look at them.” The End Current Music: Panic at the Disco | | Wednesday, February 14th, 2007 | | 6:51 pm |
New Story! You're Kidding Me
Hey all. I have a little ficlet to tide you over till my next big adventure. This was originally for an english assignment I had to write in the style of Jane Austen using real life experiances. This is a Dawn fic. There is no mention of any other BtVS relationship. Please R&R. Enjoy, Nichbuket You're Kidding Me Chapter 1 “We’re getting married!” screeched Melanie as she bounced up and down showing everyone her ring, while her ponytail swayed side to side. Janice, Dawn, and Rae froze; their jaws lead weights. “Guys?” Melanie began to frown. “Ummm. Congratulations?” Dawn broke the awkward silence. When the rest of the group added their good wishes, Melanie began to smile again. “Isn’t it exciting? Grant and I are going to see the justice of the peace when I turn eighteen in June,” Melanie, her cheeks rosy with excitement, told her friends all the plans she had concocted. “A week after the wedding we head off to basic training. Grant said that once our run is done, we can have kids, and that I will make a good housewife. I know it’s going to be perfect.” The others were still staring at her disbelievingly when the bell rang. “Oooo. I have to get to class. Grant said he’d have a surprise for me. Bye all!” Melanie skipped down the hall, leaving her shocked friends to head their separate ways. Chapter 2 “Am I the only one who thinks she’s lost it?” Rae asked carefully as they sat down to lunch. “Tell me about it,” Janice said exasperated. “Why is she still dating that scum bag anyway?’ “I know what you mean. I never liked the boy, but after he hit her that one time, I’ve despised him to the point of strangulation,” Dawn added her two cents in as Alison joined them. “Who hit who?” Al asked as she got out her lunch and flipped her hair out of her eyes. “We’re talking about Grant and Melanie. Didn’t you hear that they’re getting married in June?” Dawn began to fill Al in. Al’s eyes looked like saucers. “You’re kidding me, right?” “Why would I kid you about something so utterly stupid, Al? I mean, she actually said, and I quote, ‘He said that we’d have children and that I’d make a good housewife,’” Dawn said in a high pitched voice, while rolling her eyes and twirling her hair. “Come on, I mean, for Christ’s sake, are we living in the Cro-Magnon Era?” Dawn was getting heated up. “Calm down, Honey,” Rae said placing a hand on Dawn’s shoulder. “It’s her life to live or to screw up.” “But if the army doesn’t kill her, Grant definitely will,” Janice said in a voice that knew pain. Rae rolled her eyes, “Hey, that’s a bit cynical, don’t you think? Could you at least pray that Melanie will open her eyes and see the kind of guy Grant is before it comes to that?” “I don’t understand what’s going on with people these days. First of all, everyone knows the kind of scum Grant is,” Al said. “Does Mel lack that much self-esteem that she wants to stay with an abusive S.O.B.? God it’s like May and He Who Shall Not Be Named.” Chapter 3 The girls look at her quizzically. “What are you talking about, Al?” Janice asked. “Well it turns out that, according to James, the happy couple recently got engaged.” “Has everyone lost it?!” Rae screamed, causing most of the lunchroom to stare at their table and Rae to blush. “Oops.” Al laughed and continued, “Well it seems they are madly in love. At midnight, on her birthday, he threw stones at her window till she opened it. Then he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.” “I’d kill him for waking me up,” Dawn interrupted, under her breath. Al glared at her for interrupting. “Anyways, I’m sure the entire thing would have been completely romantic if, you know, they were older and the ring didn’t look like it was from a crackerjack box.” “Oh, and if He Who Shall Not Be Named wasn’t a piece of cheating rubbish,” Janice added gleefully. “There’s that to,” Al agreed. “I just don’t get it. He’s another one who’s got a not-so-flattering reputation. Look at his relationship with Sara. He was her first boyfriend. She was so innocent and he hurt her,” Janice began. “At first he was sweet, if not a bit stalkerish, and then he changed. Even after we knew what he did to Kate, we wanted to be supportive. I myself threatened sever harm to a certain part of his anatomy if he even thought about hurting her. And then he goes and sleeps around with that blond bimbo. I’m telling you if Sara hadn’t held me back that boy wouldn’t be able to walk straight anymore. There is no way that May could be so stupid.” “At least they’re planning to wait till after they graduate college,” Al added. This time all of the girls rolled up their eyes, but Dawn was the one to respond, “Well that’s good. Chances are he’ll cheat on her or do something to mess it up and they wont get married. Men like that deserve to be alone.” “What if she forgives him?” Rae asked. “It seems that she’s already brushed of all of his other transgressions, so what would make the next time different?” “Nothing necessarily, but if May stays with him, then I have no pity for that girl. She deserves all she has coming to her,” Janice answered. Chapter 4 “Hey Hon,” James said as he walked up to Al. “Lets go, huh?” “One sec, Sweetie. We were just talking about Grant, Melanie, May, and He Who Shall Not Be Named,” Al replied kissing him on the cheek. James frowned. “I wanna go now, though. You can finish your conversation later.” “It’s alright Al. The bell's about to ring anyhow. You might as well go chill with your guy for a few,” Rae said smiling. James and Al got up, and James grabbed her hand. “See you tomorrow,” Al declared, as they walked away. “Cute couple don’t you think?” Rae asked. “I guess,” Dawn answered. “But Jay said that Lynn said that she saw him making out with someone else.” “No way!” Janice couldn’t believe it. “That’s what he said,” Dawn nodded. They all stood as the bell rung. “We’ll talk later. Gotta jet. Bye.” “Bye” the other two girls said as they parted down the hall. The End Ps- I ment no disrespect to the army. I hold the people who fight for our safty in the highest regards. | | Tuesday, January 30th, 2007 | | 7:41 pm |
A Moment Like This
Chapter 4 William walked into the dinning room when he heard his mother call for Buffy. “Buffy would you be a dear and fetch my knitting from the solar?” Smiling at Ann Buffy nodded and replied, “I’ll be just a moment.” “Good morning Mother. I’ll be right back, I must have a quick word with Buffy,” William said darting out of the dinning room before his mother could even say hello. “Oomph,” Buffy sighed as she ran into William on her way back to the dinning room. Scowling at William, she tried to control her anger. “Pardon me, Sir. Is there anything I can help you with?” “Well for one, you could start calling me William again.” William smirked when her heard a slight growl, but continued before Buffy could interrupt. “Secondly, I would like you to join me in the garden today for a picnic.” Buffy just didn’t understand how William could suddenly want to be her friend again. “A kind offer, I’m sure, but unfortunately I have chores to attend to that can’t be put off.” “You have to take time to eat at some point,” William countered. “Come on, Luv.” Sighing again, Buffy couldn’t think of any other excuses. She did have to eat. “Alright. I shall meet you in the around noon, but only for an hour. I can’t neglect my duties.” With that said Buffy headed back to the dinning room leaving a smiling William to follow behind her; a position he didn’t mind at all. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& “This is a change from last night,” Willow commented when Buffy finished telling her about the lunch plans. “What happened to ‘I hate him!’?" Buffy glared at her best friend. “You knew I didn’t mean that, and besides what am I supposed to do? He’s my boss. I can’t just tell him no and not think of the repercussions.” Willow rolled her eyes, “He wouldn’t hurt you or fire you; Ann loves you too much.” “Ann might love me, but William is the master of the household now, and what he says is law,” Buffy said with a nauseous look in her eyes. Before Willow could reply there was a knock at the door. “Is it me or is this becoming a habit?” Smiling Buffy asked who was at the door. “It’s me Buffy, and you know it,” William responded, sending both girls into a fit of giggles. Settling down Buffy got up too answer the door. “Hello, Sir. I was a bit busy this morning so I didn’t have time to pack a picnic, but if we go now it wont take me long to do so.” “It’s William, and I already had one packed. You didn’t really think I would make you make the lunch that I asked you to have with me?” When she didn’t reply William frowned. “You know me, Buffy. I’m not like that.” Buffy looked deep into his eyes. “See, that’s the point. I don’t know you anymore” Taking her hand William gave a definitive nod. “Than let’s go get reacquainted.” Chapter 5 “I can’t believe you remembered my favorite treat!” Buffy exclaimed as William handed her a raspberry tart. Looking at her lovingly he replied, “I remember everything about you, Buffy.” “Than why didn’t you write?” “I’m so sorry. You will never know how sorry I am for leaving things the way they were for so long. I never wanted to leave home. I never wanted to leave you,” William tried to explain. “Than why did you?” Buffy asked on the brink of tears. “I am the only son my father ever had. I was expected to marry well, and produce a high society heir that would one day take my place after I passed away.” “But…” “But it didn’t turn out that way. Drusilla was beautiful and of the best bloodlines. Any bachelor would have killed to marry her, but she looked at me.” William wiped away a tear that began to roll down Buffy’s cheek. “I was nerdy William and she wanted me.” “I looked at you too,” Buffy whispered so quietly he almost didn’t here her. “Buffy if I had known you gave me even the smallest of glances, I would have tried everything to be there for you. You were my best friend, and I’m sorry. My blindness cost me five years of my life. A life I could have spent in heaven. A life I was forced to live in hell.” “Hell?” Buffy questioned. William sighed and began his tale of the past five years. He told her everything Dru had done to the people around them, him and even herself. He left nothing out. He wanted to earn her trust back. Buffy’s heart broke for William, and she pulled him in to a hug. “Oh William. I’m so sorry. I wish I could take away your past five years and make you forget all the pain she caused you.” William melted in her embrace. God how he loved her. “Marry me.” Buffy froze. “What?” “Marry Me,” He repeated. Buffy tried to move away, but he wouldn’t let her. “We’d be wonderful together. Please Buffy. I love you.” Buffy’s tears returned with a vengeance. “Please, William, don’t do this. You know we can’t marry. I’m a maid, and you still don’t have a high society son to carry on your families fortune.” “I don’t care about things like that. I was forced to live in a horrible marriage before and I wont do it again.” “William I’m a maid,” Buffy said again. “All that means is that you’re a hard worker, and that you would treat those who work around you with more respect than any debutant out there. I love you Buffy, and I will till the end of time. Will you marry me?” Buffy saw the sincerity and love in William’s face when he finally let her lean back. “I feel as if I have waited my entire life.” “Waited for what, my heart?” William asked slightly confused. Beaming, Buffy pounced on William’s lap. “A moment like this.” “Does that mean you’ll be my wife?” William inquired, the hope evident in his voice. “Yes, William, I’ll be your wife,” Buffy barely finished when William picked her up and began spinning her around the garden. Epilogue The sounds of children laughing and playing could be heard through out the estate as everyone began to take their seats. “Now are you sure you have everything?” the old woman asked. “Yes Nan. Something new, something old, something borrowed and something blue. Mum mad me triple check even before we left the house. Everything’s here. I promise,” the bride said as she stood up. “Did you really think I wouldn’t have everything under control, Mum?” questioned the other woman in the room. The old woman patted her daughter’s cheek. “Of course not, Dilara. I figured that you’d be a nervous wreck, and might accidentally forget a minor important detail. Besides Tanon is my last grandbaby to get married, I’m obligated to fret.” Dilara rolled her eyes to the heavens. “My apologies, Mother, but don’t forget about all those great grandchildren who have yet to even think about marriage. Any who, it’s almost time to begin so we should probably take our seats.” “I’ll be out in a moment. I just want to expel one last piece of advice before Tanon ties her hand to that man for the rest of her life.” Tanon giggled as her mother walked out of the room, giving up. “So Nan, what great wisdom do you have for me today?” Smiling the woman began, “When it comes to marriage, no matter how good it is, there is still those times when you’ll want to just ring your husband’s neck.” The woman paused as Tanon burst out laughing, remembering a time when she chased her own husband around the house with a rolling pin. “My point is that during those times, when you don’t think you can take being married to that man for another second, you must remember.” “Remember what?” Tanon asked as they walked to the beginning of the long isle. Tanon’s soon to be husband, who had seemed nervous, calmed as soon as he looked into Tanon’s eye. The old woman smirked knowingly, and bent down to whisper in her granddaughter’s ear. “Remember the moments like these.” With that the woman hurried to take her seat near her husband, who took her hand as soon as she sat down. As the I do’s were said her husband leaned over and kissed her cheek. “I love you Buffy.” Turning to return the kiss the old woman replied, “And I you William. And I you.” THE END *Thanks for all the reviews you guys sent. I love them dearly. I hope none of you thought this was going to be a long fic, because it was always meant to be a short ditty. A Moment Like This
Happy Holidays! Chapter 3 “Hello, Sir,” Buffy said demurely as she lowered her eyes. William hooked his finger under her chin. “What’s with all this sir business? It’s William.” Buffy’s brows furrowed as her anger returned. “I’m sorry, Sir. It’s been so long since we have had any communication, Sir. I did not know where we stood, Sir. Besides you are my employer, and I am but a maid in you house hold, Sir. William felt a wave of renewed guilt wash over him as he stared into her sad, frustrated eyes. “I’m so sorry, Pet.” “Sometimes, Sir, sorry just isn’t enough. Now is there anything else you needed, or may I turn in for the night?” Buffy questioned turning to close the door when William shook his head no. Standing outside her closed door, William was in a state of disbelief. He understood why she was angry, but this uncharacteristic behavior unnerved him. William had to find a way to earn her friendship and trust once again. He decided it was to late to do anything now, so he might as well go to bed and start Operation Re-friend Buffy tomorrow. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& “That went well. Don’t you think?” Willow asked as Buffy sank to her bed with a sigh. Buffy glared at her best friend as she closed her eyes. “Sure it went well, if you consider me practically spitting at him going well.” “It wasn’t so bad. Besides I’m sure he understands why you’re a bit ticked. You’ve been carrying all this anger on your shoulders for the past five years, it’s good to finally let it go. Maybe you can be friends again.” “I don’t know Wills,” Buffy said with a defeated voice. “He said he was sorry.” Opening her now tear filled eyes, Buffy looked at Willow. “He could sit outside that door for a thousand and one nights saying he was sorry, and I still don’t know if I could forgive him. I know it’s been five years Will, but he was my best friend and what he did really hurt me.” Willow sighed sympathetically. Sometimes her friend was just plain stubborn. “Alright, I’m going to head to bed- got an early start tomorrow- and I suggest you do the same.” After Willow left, Buffy changed into her night gown, and sat at her vanity to brush her hair. Staring at her reflection, Buffy wondered if she’d be able to be friends with William again. “He’s just going to have to work his rear off. If he thinks he can waltz back in my life after five years and pretend things haven’t changed, he’s got another thing coming,” She thought to herself. Just as she drifted off to the land of the faeries one last thought passed through her mind. “But my God he’s hot.” Current Mood: annoyed | | Thursday, December 21st, 2006 | | 9:08 pm |

Chapter 2 Buffy slowed down when she got to her room. Closing her door she let loose the breath she’d been holding. She felt like an idiot running away like that, but what was she supposed to say to the man that ignored her for the past five years? “It doesn’t matter anyways,” Buffy told herself. “What’s done is done. Besides I don’t even like him any more.” “Ya right,” She thought. Just than there was a knock on her door. “Who is it?” “Hey it’s me. Open up,” Buffy’s best friend and fellow maid, Willow, said. Opening the door, Buffy moved towards her bed. “Hey, Will. What’s up?” Willow could tell something was wrong. “I could ask the same thing.” “What? Me? Nothings up,” Buffy said defensively, as Willow raised her eyebrow. Buffy’s reserve could never stand up against Willow’s resolve face. “Fine. William’s back today.” Willows eyes grew wide. “Master William?” At Buffy’s nod, Willow giggled and jumped on the bed next to her. “So? Why aren’t you excited? All you have ever talked about since I’ve gotten here is how much you wanted him to come home.” “I have not!” Buffy stomped her foot. “Further more, any person who obviously couldn’t care enough about me to say goodbye has no affection of mine.” As she finished there was another knock at the door. “Buffy?” was heard from the other side, causing both girls to stair at the door as if it were a monster. “Buffy, are you there?” &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& William couldn’t believe it. Even after so long Buffy was still here. God, how he used to love spending long summer afternoons with her in the garden. She was his best friend. Heck, Buffy was his only friend. So why did she run away from him? She acted as if they didn’t even know each other. He had to speak with her; talk as they used to do when they were children. Deciding to pass on the nap, William headed to the servants quarters. Once he got there, William realized he didn’t know what room was hers. Just when he was about to turn around and find someone who could help him, he heard Buffy scream, “I have not!” Smiling he couldn’t believe his luck. Standing outside her door, he froze, as he was about to knock. What was he going to say to her? Five years of no communication had made him realize he new nothing about her. What if she was married now? What if she had children? Shaking his head at the pathetic ness of his behavior, William raised his hand and knocked. On the other side of the door all talking stopped. “Buffy?” William questioned, his nerves acting up again. “Buffy, are you there?” After a few moments the door opened. William’s breath caught as he stared into Buffy’s emerald eyes. He pushed down the urge to take her into his arms. “Yes?” She asked so innocently. At that one word William lost all of his speech capability. “Buffy,” He finally said, with a definitive sound to his voice and a smile on his lips. William felt his heart swell when he saw Buffy smile back. Current Mood: blahCurrent Music: Don Henley's Boys of Summer | | Tuesday, December 12th, 2006 | | 8:18 am |
New Story! A Moment Like This
*I'm so rediculously proud of myself for this you have no idea.*nb Chapter 1 “Oh God. There he is,” Buffy thought as she looked up from scrubbing the hall floor. It had been so long since she’d seen him. He hadn’t come home since he married that Drusilla chit. Buffy didn’t understand how he could just forget she existed. Growing up she and Master William had been the best of friends. He’s the one who taught her to read and write. They would spend hours together in the garden writing poetry and sharing secrets. He swore to her they would be friends forever. Than he got old enough to work with his father. William’s duty became all consuming. He didn’t have time for Buffy any longer. Soon he was gone. Married to a fine debutant. He left without so much as a goodbye for his supposedly dear friend. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& “She’s finally gone,” William thought to himself as he breathed a sigh of relief when he stepped into his old home. It had been five years since he’d returned. Five long years married to a woman who was supposed to be perfect. Five long years with a woman who had lost all sense of reality. It had been five long years and he was tired. Growing up, William always knew he would be expected to marry a girl of proper social standings and a pocket book to match. He understood what his duty was, he just didn’t understand why he had to follow it. His father arranged a match for him with Mr. Worthington, Drusilla’s father, when her was twenty years old. It looked like it would be a splendid union. Drusilla was beautiful in a dark raven sort of manor, rich and extremely well tempered. William and Dru got along cordially enough and William had hoped that one day he would learn to love her and she love him in return. That was not to be sadly. After the wedding, when he began to spend more time with her, William realized that Dru wasn’t quite right in the head. She would constantly talk to the stars and her doll, Miss Edith. As disturbing as he found this, William stood by her side as he was expected to do. Scandal was not an option. One day her mind became too much for her to handle. William had gone on a trip to town on the day he’d found her. He had just returned home and was tired, so he decided to take a nap before checking on Dru. As soon as he walked into his room he saw her. She was just lying there on his bed. She looked so pale and innocent with Miss Edith in one hand and a vile of poison in the other. Her expression was so peaceful. William still feels guilt today, because his first thought when he saw her was, “Thank God.” He couldn’t stay in that house anymore. That’s why he came back to the home where he grew up; a place where he had so many happy memories. William took a deep breath and headed toward his rooms. Not really paying attention to where he was going he bumped into someone. “Oh, I’m dreadfully sorry,” He apologized. “There’s no need for you to apologize, Sir,” Buffy said looking up, “It’s my fault. I’m awfully clumsy sometimes.” William’s breath caught in his throat when he saw whom he had run into. “Buffy?” Giving a slight curtsy and a “Yes, Master William,” Buffy hurried out of the room leaving William in a state of confusion. And That's How It Went
Chapter 7 By the time they came to a stop, both Buffy and Spike were ready to pass out. “Please tell me there will be no more moving faster than the speed of light,” Buffy said putting a hand to her head. Spike agreed. “I feel like I did after a ate that pig’s blood that was in the back of the fridge.” Amanda rolled her eyes at the both of them. These were supposed to be the champions of the world, and they couldn’t even handle a little speed. She didn’t think she’d ever understand the world. “We should be done with the high acceleration. For now anyways.” Right in front of them Spike saw a giant mechanical horned beast munching on three bodies. “Hey, I thought Satan was supposed to be doing that,” He questioned. “Yes, well modern technology is a wonder,” Amanda explained. “That would be the new and improved Lucifer, made for all your torturing needs. Say hello to Eternity’s finest victims: Judas, Brutus, and Cassius; the betrayers.” Buffy crinkled her nose. “Ewww. You can hear their bones crunching, and hey isn’t this a bit lazy of Satan. Isn’t this supposed to be his punishment? How did he get out of it?” Amanda shrugged. “Evil is a funny thing. Any who, this is where I must leave you.” Buffy and Spike began to protest. Amanda put up a hand. “I can’t help you defeat Satan. I’m considered to be a neutral demon, but I can give you a little help.” “Any help would be greatly appreciated,” Spike said. “Somehow I don’t think you’ll feel the same after I give it to you,” Amanda smirked. “Toodles,” She said before she disappeared the same way she came, in a puff of smoke. In her place stood Ziva and Devon. Spike growled. “Amanda!!” Buffy was ticked too. “Amanda, get you butt back here! You can’t do this. Their just children!” All that could be heard was a faint whisper, “It’s their destiny.” Buffy was about to explain to Amanda about how she could screw destiny when Devon interrupted her. “It’s okay Mummy. We’re ready to help.” Buffy knelt down in front of the twins, admiration showing in her eyes. “I know you guys would do anything to help Errinn, but you shouldn’t have to.” Ziva put her tiny hand on Buffy’s cheek. “You shouldn’t have to either Mum.” Buffy felt a lump in her throat as Spike squeezed her shoulder. “Buffy you can’t fight what their meant to do, no matter how hard you wish you could.” She gave a short nod. “Alright all, which way should we head?” “Daddy we have to wait for Igoraphus,” Ziva explained, tugging on Spike’s sleeve. “Igoraphus?” “At you service, Sir,” A hunched back creature said as he came forward. “We must hurry if you wish to save your daughter.” When Igoraphus turned away Spike grabbed his arm. “And who are you?” “Oh I’m sorry. It’s been so long, I tend to forget proper etiquette. I am Igoraphus, most trusted servant of Satan.” Chapter 8 “Excuse me?!” Buffy shouted. “Most trusted servant of Satan and you expect us to trust you!” Igoraphus trembled under her glare. Ziva walked up to him and laid a hand on his hand. “It’s okay Mummy. He’s on our side now,” She said turning to face Buffy. Buffy raised her eyebrow in disbelief, but nodded her agreement, while Igoraphus looked at Ziva with a surprised expression. “Thank you much, Miss.” Ziva looked back at him and smiled, melting his insides even more than Errinn had. “This way please. We really must hurry.” They small family followed behind the puzzling demon in to a dark and winding tunnel. As they moved deeper into dark passageway, they heard someone chanting. The chanting caused Igoraphus to speed up. As they reached the end of the cave, they saw the handsomest demon they’d ever seen circling Errinn, who just sat there and cooed. It took everything Buffy and Spike had not to run right out there and grab their baby girl. “Is putus animus quod terminus lemma. Vispilio of meus diligo , meus pet. Planto lemma sino ut haud alius has umquam sino. Planto lemma votum they erant nunquam prognatus. Insons insontis quod permissum puter meus ultionis,” Satan chanted as he walked around Errinn with incense. Igorapus quietly translated for them, “Take this pure soul and end them. Robbers of my love, my pet. Make them suffer as no other has ever suffered. Make them wish they were never born. Take the innocent and let loose my revenge.” “No!” Buffy shouted. Spike shoved the twins behind them as Satan turned towards them an evil grin on his lips. “Ahh the parents. I’ve been expecting you. I will enjoy watching you see the termination of your daughter,” He cackled and turned to face Igoraphus. “Tsk, tsk, Igor. I’m deeply ashamed that you would lead them here to ruin my ritual. And after all I have done for you.” Igoraphus put his head down. “Oh well. It’s so hard to find good help these days.” Snapping his fingers, Satan caused Igoraphus to ignite. The sound of his screams echoed through out the cavern until he was no more than dust. Buffy felt her heart break for the poor creature and tried to jump at Satan, only to find that she couldn’t move. “What have you done to us?” Satan smiled. “Well, I couldn’t have you trying to stop my ritual, now could I? Now you shall stay and watch till it’s over.” He turned back to Errinn and Buffy let out a whimper. That’s when Ziva and Devon realized that they weren’t frozen to their spots. Inching forward, they advanced towards Satan’s back, which wasn’t to hard since he had stopped moving. Buffy wanted to stop them, but knew they were the only shot they had to save Errinn. The ground began to shake as the ritual got closer to completion. Ziva tapped Satan on the lower back and Buffy almost had a heart attack. Satan turned around slowly, knowing Spike and Buffy couldn’t have moved. “Boo,” The twins said simultaneously causing Satan to jump. Devon took the stake he always carried with him and, using Satan’s surprise against, staked him through the heart. “Nooooo!!” Satan screamed as he began to burn up. Due to his distress, his hold over Buffy and Spike was broken. “Bloody marvelous Son,” Spike said patting Devon on the back, and picking him and Ziva up. The earth began to shake violently again as Buffy picked up Errinn. “I can’t believe it was that easy,” She said as they ran through the tunnel. “We have to get out of here fast! There’s no way we can get through all the levels before the were crushed.” Buffy and Spike stopped knowing their journey was futile. Hugging each other and their children close they all said their I love yous. With tears in her eyes Buffy looked upward, praying for help harder than she ever prayed before. Asking the Powers that Be to save Spike and their children, Buffy saw a large boulder fall towards them. Closing her eyes again she waited for the inevitable. Chapter 9 The inevitable never came. Confused, Buffy opened her eyes to see where they were. Surprise and elation swept over them when she noticed that they were in the high school, surrounded by everyone. Their mouths slack-jawed. “Thank-bloody-God,” Giles said as he let out a deep sigh. Facing the twins, he tried and failed to make a stern face. “You two are going to give me a heart attack one of these days, the way you keep disappearing.” Letting go of their parents, Ziva and Devon ran to hug Giles. “Sorry Granddad,” they said. Xander went to help Buffy and Spike stand up again. “Can I just be the first one to say that was the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while? I mean one minute you’re down there and the next, poof, you’re here. How’d you do that?” “I have no bloody idea, but I’m sure glad it happened,” Spike said hugging Dawn. Buffy, who had been silent so far, kissed Errinn’s brow before handing her over to Willow and giving Spike the kiss of his life. “God do I love you,” She said cupping Spike’s face. “I love you to, Pet.” “You know that is the kind of thing that really ticks me off,” A voice said from nowhere. Than in a puff of smoke Amanda once again appeared. “You beings just take a gift and run. Don’t even say thank you to those who gave it to you.” She stood there with her arms crossed. Buffy walked up to her and gave her a hug of a lifetime. “Thank you for helping me save my baby’s life.” Amanda looked shocked and uncomfortable. “Um, ya, sure. Whatever.” Pushing Buffy away, she knelt down to call the twins over. “Now I’ve been told by the big guys, that since you two killed the big honcho and made the world a bit safer, I get to grant you both one wish. You have five minutes to think about anything you want, except for more wishes, and I’ll give it to you.” Devon took Ziva by the hand and they moved to the far corner to think about their wishes. The others gathered in a circle and listened to Spike and Buffy tell the story of their journey. By the time they finished the twins were ready to make their wishes. “Alright kiddos, what will it be?” Amanda asked. Devon winked at his father before he said, “I wish Daddy could go outside with us in the sun.” His request caused Spike to tear up. “And what about you munchkin? What do you want? A pony? Jewelry?” Ziva shook her head. “No ma’am. I don’t need any of those stuffs,” She said making Giles wince at her bad grammar. “I want Mummy and Daddy to be able to rest. For all the bad demons to be good demons. Can I have that? Can you make it so they can rest now?” Amanda was in awe of these two children. Who’d of thunk that two so young could be so noble. “I can do anything your little heart desires. You guys sure?” Ziva and Devon both nodded. “Than you wish is my command. Toodles,” She said once again disappearing in a cloud of smoke. Epilogue “And that’s how it went. That’s how your granddad became human and why we see demons walking down the street,” Errinn finished explaining. “Wow Mom. That’s so cool,” her son, William, said, as the other children nodded in agreement. Errinn smiled and mussed with her son’s hair. “That it is Honey. Totally cool. Now why don’t you guys go wash up for dinner?” A resounding moan was heard from all of the children. “Go on. Scoot. The quicker you wash up, the quicker you can eat dinner. Which means you get to desert that much faster.” With that all the children pushed and shoved each other to get to the bathroom first. She giggled at their antics. “Ahh. The old dessert motivator. I remember when our parents used to use that on us,” Quinn, Willow and Tara’s adopted son and Errinn's husband said. Giving him a kiss she replied, “I was just thinking the same thing.” Kissing her one more time, Quinn looked out to the backyard at their extended family. God did he love the family he was brought into, their quirks and all. “Lets scoot. I’m dying for some of your mom’s coleslaw,” He said slapping Errinn's bum playfully causing her to squeal. Running out ahead of him, she stopped to yell back at him. “You’ll pay for that later body!” With a smirk not unlike Spike’s he chased after her. “I’m counting on it.” &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& Stepping out from around the corner, where they were spying, Buffy and Spike laughed. Grasping Spike’s hand, Buffy pulled him into a kiss. “Do you remember when we were like that?” She asked. Spike got that mischievous glint in his eye. “Sure, Luv. Just last night after Devon picked up the kiddies.” Giggling, the pair walked out of the house to join the family they never thought they’d have. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& “And that’s how it went,” A mystical creature from up above said watching over her greatest accomplishment. With a sigh, she turned and headed to bed for the evening. Before falling asleep she smiled to herself. “Damn I’m good.” And with the snap of her fingers the lights went out. The End *I just wanted to thank everyone who stayed with me and supported me through this long trilogy. With out you guys I don’t think it would have ever been completed. Though I do have to say I’m quite proud of myself for getting the last four chappies out in one day, and I hope it makes up for the long delays between other updates. And finally, for the last time I ask you to please leave feedback as I close the book on the final chapter of The Ode to Destiny trilogy. Toodles for now, Nichbuket.* Current Mood: excited | | Tuesday, December 5th, 2006 | | 8:34 pm |
And That's How It Went
*Soooooo Sorry about the delay.* NB Chapter 6 Walking through the next gate Buffy and Spike felt a wave of lust wash over them. “Wow, talk about intense,” Buffy said feeling that familiar itch between her thighs. Amanda ignored her comment. Looking around Buffy noticed that people seemed to be attached back-to-back in pairs and reading. “Why are they together?” Amanda gave a small giggle. “It really is a most fitting punishment for those who have sins of the flesh, to be attached to their partner’s back for eternity. The catch is, that they don’t care about each other or anyone else. They just read forever from a tale very similar to Romeo and Juliet. Can you imagine having a lustful urge till the end of time and not be able to ease the tension? Personally there’s no way I could stand that.” Buffy nodded in agreement as Spike added his own “Bugger,” to the mix. The air here seemed to contain an aphrodisiac and it was really getting to him. He was rock hard but couldn’t do anything about it. As she scanned the area, Buffy noticed that many of the couples were dressed in old-fashioned clothing. “Why does it seem that so many of them are older than Spike?” “Hey!” Ignoring Spike’s protest Amanda explained. “Most of the couples come from a time when the idea of love was thought of as little more than a joke. Love was not important. People would marry each other in order to improve their social standing and-or the size of their pocket book. These are people who were wed to others yet fell in love with and sought comfort in one another’s arms. Now-a-days most people are allowed to marry whom ever they wish, and love is something to strive for. That is why there aren’t as many modern folks” “But you can’t help who you fall in love with!” Buffy shouted angrily. Amanda looked at Buffy as if she were the most ignorant person this side of the Milky Way. “While that is true, they still broke their marriage vows. They promised to forsake all others and for that they must be punished!” The way Amanda spoke made Spike wonder who had scorned her. “Humph,” Amanda sighed. “Board now. I don’t know about you guys, but I have had almost enough of this journey. It’s such a downer.” “But we have to continue. You don’t understand. Errinn is….” Buffy began. Amanda interrupted, “ I know that. I’m just talking about fast forwarding a bit.” “Fast forwarding?” Spike question as he arched his scared eyebrow. “Well duh.” Amanda rolled her eyes. “What’s the point of having magic if you can’t skip ahead to the good parts?”. Buffy gulped. “The good parts?” Amanda was getting excited again. “Ya, you know, the big finale. The end of the long journey. The big kahuna. The big boom.” “Boom?” Spike didn’t like the sound of that. “Boom,” Amanda said with a sense of inevitability. “Now hold on kiddies, ‘cause if you thought the ride down here was bad….well lets just say it’s nothing compared to this bumpy ride.” “Bumpy?” Buffy barely got out as her body began to have a pulling sensation. Before she knew what hit her, it felt as if her flesh was being pulled from her body and the threesome was off to parts unknown. The good stuff apparently. Current Mood: annoyed |
